Major General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, SUP, psc was born in 1962 and was commissioned in Bangladesh Army on 27th December 1981. Later, he successfully attained his military training in the Signals Training Centre and School, Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering, School of Military Intelligence, School of Infantry and Tactics and Defense Services Command and Staff College. His overseas training include Signal Officer's Advance Course in Fort Gordon, Georgia, USA, the EIPC from Naval Post Graduate Academy, California, USA and Transnational Security Cooperation Workshop at Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies in Hawaii, USA.
Major General Mamun Khaled made a distinguished stand in Bangladesh Army as he continued to pursue his military career in various capacities at Units, Training Institutions, Organizations and Army Headquarters. The General also served with significant contribution in the UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in Bosnia and UN Mission in Sierra Leon (UNAMSIL).
As a Knowledge seeking military leader, Major General Mamun Khaled completed his Masters in Defense Studies from the National University, securing 1st class. He also accomplished three separate Master in Business Administration degrees from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Royal Roads University, Canada and Dhaka University respectively. He also achieved Chancellor’s Gold Medal for securing CGPA 4 out of 4 in Master in Business Administration degree from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He is presently doing his PhD in the department of "Government and Politics" at Jahangirnagar University on Visionary Leadership and “Change Management and its implementation in Organizations of Bangladesh” in Bangladesh University of Professionals. For attaining outstanding performance, he has been awarded with Professional Excellence Medal Sena Utkorshota Padak (SUP) in 2014.
