The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca (USAMVCN) is a public higher education institution, member of the Romanian National Higher Education system, which is leaded by the Rector and the Board Council. The institution was founded in 1869 having nowadays more than 7000 students organized on a structure of a Life Sciences University with 5 faculties: Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Science & Biotechnologies, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine. After 2000 the strategy and study programs were focused on a base of a research university with 26 research centres, 3 research institutes, 28 BSc and 26 MS programs and a Doctorate school with more than 500 students. Recently, the university was classified in the top 12 of the best Romanian universities, being ranked on the fifths position of ‘universities of advanced research and education’. The University was evaluated twice in the last ten years by the European University Association (EUA), being appreciate as a ‘successful university’, with a strong academic core and reputation so that: ‘UASVM can be a source of pride for its members’. The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Cluj-Napoca is member of many prestigious international organizations such as: EUA, AUF, ICA, DRC, CASEE, BSUN, EARMA etc.
